In the heart of Arizona’s arid lands stands Hope, a small town born of one man’s determination.
Its founder, Francis Belloc, arrived years earlier on this frontier—then under Spanish rule, later Mexican—with an extraordinary ambition: to build a town where nothing stood, at the foot of the formidable Dragoon Mountains.
Through sheer determination, Hope has become an essential stop between Tucson and the mining camps of New Mexico. Wagon trains of settlers, gold prospectors, ranchers, merchants, and adventurers find one last haven here before crossing Apache Pass, while trade—sometimes entirely legal, sometimes decidedly less so—flourishes with neighboring Mexico.
In Hope, nothing happens without Francis Belloc’s approval.
He rules his town with a firm hand, convinced that order is the only asset that can secure his empire’s growth. Ranching, a handful of modest but promising mining claims, and an ambitious railroad project linking the town to Sonora, backed by Governor Díaz, fuel an entire region’s dreams of prosperity.
Investors are flocking in.
The brick-built saloon, a true luxury on this wild frontier, shelters travelers and prominent townsfolk from the heat. The bank occupies the remains of an old Spanish mission. Shops are thriving. Business is booming. The Apaches seem to have vanished from the surrounding country.
And when a few outlaws forget Belloc’s rules, justice in Hope is simple, swift… and usually ends at the end of a rope. That is precisely the fate awaiting Franz Willburg today.
For some, opening the week-long festivities celebrating the town’s founding with a public hanging is the best way to remind everyone that shared prosperity depends on order.
In the West, certainty never lasts long.

L’Ultime Western©™ is a five-day immersive live-action adventure in which you will play a fictional character created especially for you by our team of writers.
The story takes place in 1869, in a fictional town in Arizona Territory. Long before you arrive, your character already has a life, a story, relationships, ambitions, secrets, and a past that has brought them to this town. You will be given a fully developed identity woven into an overarching story made up of many intersecting plotlines. Some will involve you directly; others will only unfold if you choose to become involved. At every turn, your decisions, encounters, and the stands you take will help shape your own adventure.
L’Ultime Western is not a historical reenactment. It is an original work of fiction inspired by the American West of the nineteenth century. While the setting, sets, costumes, and certain events draw on historical references to create a convincing immersive experience, the story you live through remains a scripted creation. Characters, plotlines, and events may take inspiration from historical reality… or depart from it entirely when the story calls for it.
Each character is conceived and written by our team of writers with one overriding priority: ensuring they fit seamlessly into the world and plotlines of the adventure. Before the event, a one-to-one interview will help us better understand your wishes, expectations, and approach to role-playing. These conversations will inform the creation of your character without determining it.
Respect for participants is central to everything we do. Characters, situations, and interactions are written with constant attention to emotional safety, consent, and everyone’s enjoyment of the experience.
At L’Ultime Western, there are no winners or losers. You are not here to beat the other players, but to experience an extraordinary story together. Our aim is to let you share a few days in the life of this small Western town through your character’s eyes, and draw you into a human adventure filled with choices, alliances, conflicts, mysteries, and twists, all the way to its final resolution.
Above all, L’Ultime Western is a collective adventure in which every participant becomes one of the authors of a story unfolding in real time.
